Digipeat is the Official Newsletter of the Queensland Digital Group.

Membership is presently free so you can not use cost as an excuse.

May General meeting
The next QDG general meeting will be held at
the WAVELL HEIGHTS STATE SCHOOL, MINORE STREET,
WAVELL HEIGHTS, Brisbane on Friday May 16; 7:30 start time.
Meeting topics:-
Nothing specific this month; what did you buy at BARCfest last Saturday?.
The old Queensland Digital Group Inc. is no more
The new revitalised QDG is a general radio
club.
The group is presently a social group as we do not have elected officers.
The well known QDG Web site continues to be maintained, this includes
hosting of other clubs pages.
Members of the old QDG Inc. have not automatically been transferred to the
new club.

We currently have 23 members.
There is NO membership fee as we are still an informal group.

QDG General Meeting 18/04/2008
This was the first separate general meeting after the last QDG Inc. meeting.

Members present decided to keep meeting at Wavell
Heights School and to not
form a formal club yet (no committee).
Alan VK4YAR displayed a number of 1.2, 2.4, 5.8 and 14 GHz antenna.
Alan VK4AAE discussed high voltage devices.
Paul O'Brien talked about new components for data link use.
Richard VK4ZA sold a sound card interface.
Bruce VK4EHT demonstrated various radio data software packages.
Network Update
The QDG no longer has any assets but the old QDG networks are still running.
Brisbane Area WICEN has taken over the Queensland Digital Group packet and
Voice networks.
QDG members are encouraged to join Brisbane area WICEN to help keep the
networks going.
CAR RALLY 2008
Some Queensland Digital Group members are once again helping WICEN with the
communications for the Queensland leg of the car rally.
The 2008 Coates Rally Queensland will be the first round of the 2008 NEC
Australian Rally Championship, running over the weekend of June 20.
The QDG as a group is only helping with web site information, we encourage
individual members to support WICEN.

discounts at an Australia wide electronic supplier.
